A little personal history
Translation: Gill Hall

Although I studied music, I have never been able to leave manual work and painting to one side. I managed to combine both activities in violin making. I started out in Alejandro Rubio´s atelier, where I began learning restoration techniques along with instrument making.

When I began studying at I.P.I.A.L.L., in Cremona, my teacher was Maurizio Tadioli.

I graduated in 1999 under the guidance of Maestro Giorgio Cé in July. In December I undertook my last stage of study. The Lombardy regional commission awarded me with “ Atestato di qualificazione post-diploma” for this. Afterwards I continued to work in the Grisales-Russ atelier.

In the workshop where I laboured during my "Italian" Time, my interest in Violin making solidified, as did my interest in discovering new horizons and new cultures. Having decided to spend a considerable period in Italy I change my mind to continue my journey. Canal.jpg

In 2004 I've opened my own workshop. My activity centrates in restorations and maintenance of stringed bowed instruments. My focus is mostly centrated in japanese musicians.

I assist in 2006 to the first restoration course in Cremona organized by Georg Eitinger, president of "Hans Weisshaar"'s restoration company.

I became member of Japan Erhu Promotion Association . I started to collaborate with some musicians constructing experimental bridges in differents types of wood.
